Discover the charm of authentic village life at our homestay, nestled in a remote desert village.
Being situated in the village, please don’t expect lavish amenities.
The idea is to allow you to live in the village like the locals, so we provide all the basic essentials to ensure a comfortable and enriching stay, which includes a clean and warm bedding along with a modern shower and a Western-style toilet.
Apart from that, we also provide essential toiletries such as shampoo, soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste.
As the homestay is situated on the corner of the village, away from the populated areas amidst the golden sands, you will have an oppotunity to sleep outdoors on clean, warm bedding under the vast desert sky.
As you lie down in your warm bedding overlooking the vast starlit sky, you will surely experience a wonderful night’s sleep that is complimented by the cool desert winds.
On arrival, you will be served snacks (freshly preapred chips & pakoras) along with tea.
For dinner, a vegetarian dinner will be prepared on woodfire comprising of roti, rice, dal and sabzi, along with lassi (spiced buttermilk).
In the morning, you will be served a freshly prepared breakfast comprising of porridge, bananas, bread, jam / boiled eggs and tea.
Apart form that, you will get upto 2 x 1 litre bottles of packaged drinking water to quench your thirst throughout your stay.
At our homestay, we offer guests a unique opportunity to truly engage with the local culture and lifestyle of our desert village.
During your stay, you will have ample of oppotunity to spend time with the villagers, sharing stories and gaining insights into their daily lives.
Apart from that, you will also learn how to cook traditional recipes, and witness as well as participate in the daily milking process of the cows to understand the importance of livestock here.
Moreover, you will also have a chance to interact with our friendly farm animals like sheeps and goat.
In addition to this, you will get up close with camels, the ships of the desert, and learn about their significant role in the livelihood of desert communities.
We will pick you from and drop you off at your preferred destination within Jaisalmer city or the Sam Sand Dunes.
However, if you are residing inside the fort, you might have to come till the Fort Gate.
Pick-up time will be around 4:30 am and the drop-off time will be around 8:00 pm.
Please note: This will be at an additional expense.
If you choose to come by yourself, we recommend you to leave from jaisalmer by 1:30 pm.
On the way, you must visit Kuldhara – a haunted village with an interesting folklore.
After spending some time in Kuldhara, please depart by 3:00 pm, so that you reach the Kanoi village by 3:30 pm.
